Unique NFT Dictionary
Aped:
Apes have had a large place in the cryptocurrency and NFT ecosystems lately. This term means that the person takes a very large position relative to the portfolio size. In addition, if you are not a “true APE” according to this term, it is recommended by the community to be more careful in the positions you take.
NFT Platform Review: POAP
What is POAP? Have you ever heard of it? These badges, which mean Proof of Attendance, are actually NFTs. Possession of these NFTs may mean that after joining a community, you can get a commemorative POAP or an NFT badge that shows your descriptive characteristics of the field you are dealing with. In other words, POAPs are the way to collect your experiences in both real life and virtual world. An individual's POAP collection can also be viewed as a highly reliable, decentralized identity rather than measuring engagement through the number of badges collected. For this to happen, POAP organizers must ensure that not each of those who attend events receive more than one POAP and prevent those who do not from receiving them. Existing as immutable NFTs on the Ethereum blockchain, POAPs are a digital trace of experience. All POAPs are built with the ERC-721 standard. However, for an NFT to be classified as a POAP, it must meet certain specifications. It must be printed through the official POAP smart contract and must contain up to one year of metadata about a specific time or date. Finally, all POAPs must have an image associated with them.
While POAPs were produced on the Ethereum mainnet, they have been distributed on the Ethereum sidechain xDai since October 2020. POAPs, which can be printed at small costs, can be distributed to interested participants free of charge. Considering Ethereum's high gas fees, xDai seems to be perfect for distribution. These badges, which can be moved from xDai to the Ethereum network if the gas fee is met, look to the future to create a valuable collection. For example, participation in any community and time spent can be measured by the number of POAPs in a user's wallet. Earlier this year, Bankless DAO used POAPs to help allocate funds for the subscriber airdrop. Our other example is on the SushiSwap AMA server about the Sushi community using POAPs as a kind of blockchain resume. When recruiting in the crypto space, employers can use the POAP collection as a reliable record of their participation in the community.
