💻NFT Platform Review: Flow (FLOW)
Created by NBA Top Shot developer Dapper Labs, Flow is a proof of stake blockchain designed for NFT collectibles and crypto games.
“Flow is a developer-friendly blockchain, designed as the foundation for a new generation of games, apps, and the digital assets that power them. Since its launch in January 2021, Flow successfully achieved product-market fit and has earned a top 100 Market cap position.”
Launched in 2020 by NFT powerhouse Dapper Labs, the Flow blockchain has its roots in CryptoKitties.
Flow is a layer 1 blockchain designed to be fast and developer-friendly with the goal of serving as the foundation for next-generation games, apps, and digital assets.
One of the key features of Flow is that the network can scale extensively, but Flow is unique in that it does this without sharding.
This unique feature allows Flow to provide fast and low-cost transactions that are perfect for decentralized applications such as NFT markets and crypto-charged video games.
Dapper Labs currently uses Flow for all of its projects, including the wildly popular NBA Topshot, but the network is open to other developers as well.
NBA Top Shot has already been an enormous success, but Dapper Labs has other high-profile partners in its stable, including the likes of Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), CNN, and Dr. Suess. Besides those brands, Dapper also has partners like gadget giant Samsung, game publisher Ubisoft, and Warner Music Group.
